I still remember our first date like it was gently pressed into time.
We met at a small French coffee shop—the kind with soft light spilling through the windows and the quiet hum of conversation in the background. Neither of us knew exactly what to order, and somehow—completely by accident—we both ended up with these enormous blue coffee cups. They were comically large, the kind you could wrap your hands around forever.
When they arrived at the table, we looked at them… then at each other… and burst out laughing. Just like that, the ice was broken.
As we sipped our coffee, she looked at me and told me she liked my eyes. It was such a simple sentence, but it stayed with me. We talked about life—where we’d been, what we hoped for, and the small moments that had shaped us. The conversation flowed easily, as if we had known each other far longer than just an afternoon.
Somewhere between the laughter, the warmth of the coffee, and the way she listened so intently, I knew. Not with fireworks—but with peace. A quiet certainty that she was the one, and that I was exactly where God wanted me to be.
It was the beginning of everything—two oversized blue cups, a God-ordained moment, and a love that already felt like home.
Now, one year later, we find ourselves back in that same place, holding the same oversized cups of coffee. The setting hasn’t changed much—the soft light still spills through the windows, the quiet hum still fills the room—but we have. Sitting there again, we couldn’t help but smile as we remembered how it all began. What once felt like a simple afternoon now feels sacred.
Over those familiar cups, we reflected on the year behind us—the prayers answered, the challenges that stretched us, the laughter, the growth, and the countless moments where God’s faithfulness met us right where we were. What started as conversation turned into commitment. What began over coffee became vows—promising our lives to one another and stepping boldly into the adventure God placed before us.
As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with grateful hearts and open hands, trusting God to lead us into whatever comes next. We don’t know all the details, but we know who walks with us. And that makes every step an adventure worth taking.
What started with two oversized blue cups has become a life shared—rooted in faith, fueled by love, and guided by Jesus.
Come along with us as we continue Chasing Adventure and Jesus.
